The origins of aquarium

The breeding of fish in confined or artificial environments is a practice that has its roots in history.

For thousands of years the fish have been reared in tanks and ponds as a food source. In medieval Europe the carp ponds were an almost fixed in country estates and monasteries, as it provided an alternative to meat for the holidays when it could not be worn for religious reasons.
