In the field of aquariums I've seen a lot of trends come and go over the past 25 years.
I have seen the industry increasingly concentrating on price, as if this were the only element on which to focus.
I have seen builders abandon their traditional methods to entrust their production to machines.
I've seen distributors purchase their products in the "under developed" countries, often with detriment to the quality.
... and I've seen the many aquarium enthusiasts leave this wonderful passion ... as they no longer had an incentive to "play"
I ask you to revisit the meaning of this passion!
I often say that passions are priceless.
... that passions are not a doctor's prescription.
... that passions do not have to be fashionable!
... that passions are not the latest gadget which you can not be without!
Passions are a choice, born of a desire ... so why settle?
This is what we do: we produce carefully hand crafted, aquariums for enthusiasts.
Our aquariums are handmade, one by one. We do not use machines or robots, we don't have long assembly lines.
We build them one by one, using few, well-trained craftsmen.
From the cutting of the glass, our aquariums require an average of 170 different operations, which become almost twice as many for larger models, before they are ready to be sold.
Our aquarium requires an average of 10-15 hours of handcrafted building time, which became three to four times more for the bigger models.
When an Elos aquarium is produced, they remain untouched on the table they are built for an average of 30 days and often more 90 days for the larger or custom projects.
This is what we mean by craft production. For this reason, we still consider ourselves craftsmen, and this is why our aquariums are sold and appreciated throughout the world.
